Every good conversation starts with a common understanding of the main concepts of the subject. I will start with some definitions from Wikipedia:

“Neuroplasticity, also known as neural plasticity, or brain plasticity, is the ability of neural networks in the brain to change through growth and reorganization. These changes range from individual neuron pathways making new connections, to systematic adjustments like cortical remapping.”

“Adult neurogenesis is the process in which neurons are generated from neural stem cells in the adult. This process differs from prenatal neurogenesis.”

“Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), also referred to as psychoendoneuroimmunology (PENI) or psychoneuroendocrinoimmunology (PNEI), is the study of the interaction between psychological processes and the nervous and immune systems of the human body. It is a subfield of psychosomatic medicine.”

Now when we are on the same page about the subject I will share some videos and articles about the capabilities out mind have and how we can improve them and use them. In fact this is my own bookmark page of resources on the subject.

  1. How exercises effect our brain. I find Dr. Wendy Suzuki TED talk very good in explaining exercise effect on brain. And she present the subject in a very understandable way. She shares the effect that she experienced by her self. She is Professor of Neural Science and Psychology in the Center for Neural Science at New York University, an author, storyteller and fitness instructor. She gave the talk in 2018.

  2. How can adults grow new brain cells? Interesting TED talk by Sandrine Thuret. She gave the talk back in 2015 but from it is still actual and foundational to understanding the process. In this talk she covers speaks about what effect food has on.

  3. Healing illness with the subconscious mind. This TED talk is performed at 2015 by Danna Pycher, a Hypnotherapist specializing in chronic illness, trauma, and weight loss.
